Shaun and I were chatting about our day when he suddenly narrowed his eyes and stared intently at the top of my head.
“Hold, still” he said. “Let me get that out of your hair for you.”
I didn’t move a muscle while I waited for my hero to rescue me from whatever ickiness had found its way into my curls. It could have been anything from a speck of dust to a spider, but I trusted him to get it for me…that was until I felt a sharp pain at the top of my head.
“I got it!” Shaun declared as he proudly held a silver hair in front of my eyes.
“Um…thanks” I replied as I felt three more spring into its place.
Yes, it’s true Susan. For every gray hair you [or Shaun] pull out, more will sprout from the same spot. 🙂
Poor Susie, its all down hill from now on!
Hoop doesn’t pull my white hairs out for me. Instead, he argues that they’re blonde while I complain that I’m too friggin young to have white hairs!
If you need any extra “white” hairs I have a bunch that I’d like to get rid of.
Ooooohhhh those hubbies! I’ve had to play that game, too. But now that he has some too, he doesn’t wanna play. Uh huh. He can dish it out, but he can’t take it!
Lynne-couldn’t you at least lie to me??? LOL
Patsy-thanks for the condolences???
Tink-Hoop’s right, you are too young, I’m sure they are blonde
Jay-I don’t really want them, but I can send Shaun over to help you out!
Kell-ever notice that Shaun shaves his head?
EVERYONE–My 3 hairs are SILVER not gray or white. So there!!
I loved that! And those hairs…I was parting my hair in random sections today looking for grays. I don’t have a lot, but none of them are welcome.
Susan, you are a gorgeous lady with white, silver or gray! Just make sure you get him back by pulling out his!
Cheryl- wel I have three now.
Barb-Aren’t you sweet! I would yank out his hair, but he shaves it too close…sigh…
I started getting those when I was 20 – at this point I wonder if it’s true that plucking makes three grow back. If I pull out my last few remaining brown ones will three brown ones grow back? Hmmm?
That story made me smile.
And silver is indeed more glamourous that grey!
Silver, gray or white, my hubby finds great delight in acting (??) as though they really bother him when he can see them and he just HAS to pull them out. Sometimes he wins. Other times I gently remind him that he needs a haircut soon, despite the fact that there isn’t much hair to cut and does he really want to pull that obviously stray and out of place blonde hair? 🙂 Gets him everytime, though I don’t know why?
