KT got a wild hair this afternoon and decided to clean out the little bity cupboard where I keep my teas.
KT: Mom, you have some tea in there that’s past it’s expiration dates.
Me: Tea has an expiration date? It doesn’t go bad…
KT: There are a couple that expired in 2001
Me: Oh.
I guess there is a reason that tea has an expiration date….
I think tea is like spices, they are easily forgotten so even when you do use them you can’t tell if they taste the way they should or not!
Exactly!
Your girls sound great! I love listening to my girl’s point of view .. their perspective on life can be so refreshing! (when they aren’t being drama queens!!)
I love your blog, you writing is wonderful!
It is interesting to see what they think. (although I still don’t recall giving them permission to form their own opinions!)
Thanks for the compliment!
So is 8 years past the expiration date too long? 😉
I wouldn’t think so, but SOME people….
Years go by so quickly, that when I look at expiration dates I can’t believe so many years have passed when it was only yesterday when I boguht it!!
I know what you mean. Of course…it was only yesterday that I had these kids!
I am a tea drinker and had no idea it expired…I’ll have to go through my cupboard, too! Thanks for the public service announcement.
No problem! Somebody told me they were inspired to go through their stuff and found something from 1999!
She’s right. I just dumped a bunch a few weeks ago. I like to try new teas but then forget about them or I simply don’t like them enough after all. Now I’m down to only about 12 boxes of tea in my cupboard. And really.. I’m a coffee drinker. 😉
That sounds like salad dressing at my mom’s house. She still eats it and teases us when we refuse.
I’ve got stuff in my cabinets and underwear drawer that are waayyyyy past expiration!
Huh. Who knew?
